The Body Shop sale haul...

Okay I know this looks a little crazy but when I tell you how much I got all this for you will be amazed! The Body Shop were having a crazy sale last week with a code for money off sale items as well. I was able to get all this for £22.20 including postage... now how could I not buy it?!?

£3.00 each

This is what the blueberry body scrub looks like, it reminds me of raspberry or strawberry jam. Looks good enough to eat!

The Body Shop are still having a sale so I would suggest having a look on their website as their products never disappoint:)

Have you bought anything from The Body Shop recently?

Lush buys...

It was my birthday last week and I received a lush gift voucher. Of course I had to immediately go and spend it. I keep my lush bath bombs etc in this soap & glory tin to keep them fresh and to keep any moisture out. I wanted to try Lush products that I've never used before, so I bought the following:

~Lush Sugar Scrub - £2.95 each - this contains: lavendar, ginger, fennel & sugar. I bought two of these as I love using scrubs so will probably use them up quickly.

~Big Blue bath bomb - £3.25 each - this contains: seaweed, sea salt, lemon oil  lavendar oil. I love the lush ocean salt scrub which has a similar smell to this, nice and fresh.

~Butter ball bath bomb - £2.50 each - this contains cocoa butter, ylang ylang oil, sodium bicarbonate. I bought two of these and have used one already, the oil disperses in the water and leaves your skin very soft.

Have you used any of these products before?:)

ZARA sale delivery....

I love online shopping as it feels like you're getting a present every time you get one delivered. I love opening the items and seeing how they compare to the online pics.

I was very good this time and only bought two things, however there is a ZARA very close to my work so there's still time to look through more sale items.  This lovely grey bag for £12.99 & this gorgeous printed skirt for £12.99, it's now down to £9.99! This skirt is a stretchy material which makes it really comfy.

I just had to do a close up as I'm in love with this bag, it's just the perfect size!  It has a pouch at the front, one inner zip & a nice sized strap. Unfortunately I can't find it online to link it for you:(

I'm very happy with my items, and would suggest that you have a look a their sale items, you'll not be disappointed.

Have you bought anything from the Zara sale?

Gluten free cooking books...

I'm currently getting a new kitchen installed in my house so for the past week I haven't been able to cook dinners from scratch as all my things are everywhere and it's so much hassle trying to find everything.  I can't wait to get back into cooking and baking as when you're on a gluten free diet it's better to cook and bake your own things so you can guarantee it's gluten free.

I was recently in 'The Works' book shop which sells really cheap books, craft items, children's toys and stationery.  I just love this shop as I always find great books at low prices.  When I was in the shop they were also having a sale on top of their great prices.

I have a slow cooker and have only ever made stew in it. Slow cookers are great as you basically bung everything into it, turn it on before you go to work and voilà you have your dinner ready for you coming home from work.  As this is such a great method to cook I wanted a cook book to give me ideas.  I found this healthy slow cooker recipe book by Sarah Flower which was only £2.99! Although this isn't a total gf book I've been gluten free for years now so I know what things I can't have and substitute with gf items. It has great recipes like chorizo, vegetable & chickpea casserole. I've just learnt that you can also bake in a slow cooker so I'm excited to try that out!

The second book I came across was the Vegan & Gluten free Baking book by Jasmin De Boo, this great book was only £3.99. This book has lovely recipes like mango cheesecake, chocolate & banana cream pie and peanut butter sandwich cookies. These are so yummy looking.

I always make my burgers from scratch using a burger press and lean steak mince. I want to make different varieties of burgers so when I seen this fun looking book called 'The burger ka-pow' I just had to get it as it has every possible sort of burger you can imagine. As you can see I've already been through this book thoroughly and put sticky notes on all the pages that have recipes that I would like to make (17 pages.lol). Not only does this book have amazing burger recipes like mexican turkey burger & veggie burgers it also has recipes for fresh sweetcorn relish and relish, how delicious will this be! This book was less than £4 in the shop but online it's £6.

Finally I spotted the Flat Belly Diet Gluten Free cookbook for £2.99. I'm not so fond of the idea of people going on a gluten free diet just to try and loose weight as nutritionists say that unless they have Coeliac disease, they are hurting their bodies by not getting the nutirents their bodies need. I do however think cutting down your gluten intake is probably healthier for your bodies but no need to cut it out totally.

For  me being coeliac means that if I eat gluten it can really damage my gut and could lead to cancer if I don't stick to my diet. This is a wee bit from the Coeliac UK website to explain:

'Coeliac disease is not a food allergy or an intolerance, it is an autoimmune disease. In coeliac disease, eating gluten causes the lining of the small intestine to become damaged. Other parts of the body may be affected.
Coeliac disease is a lifelong condition. The gluten-free diet is the only treatment for coeliac disease. If gluten is introduced back into the diet at a later date, the immune system will react and the gut lining will become damaged again. If someone following a gluten-free diet is retested for coeliac disease (antibody blood test, gut biopsy) it would be expected that the tests are negative. This means they are responding well to the gluten-free diet. There are no antibodies in the blood because there is no gluten for the immune system to react against. Taking gluten out of the diet allows the gut to heal.'

Before I was diagnosed with coeliac I was actually a stone lighter.  This is down to the fact that I my body wasn't taking in any nutrients from 'normal' food I was eating as it was damaging my body.  When I went onto a gf diet I slowly started to put on weight and now I'm a healthy weight for my height. In fact I'm now more prone to putting on weight as I take in all the nutrients so I have to try and watch what I eat.

This book actually has made me more aware of monounsaturated fatty acids which are healthier for you and explains all the fats that are more harmful to your body.

I'm so happy with these books and can't wait to get cooking and baking in my brand new kitchen! Hopefully finished recipe images to follow:)

Do you enjoy cooking & baking... if so I would love to hear what your favourite meals are?

Boots Revlon & Max Factor haul...

Okay... I have a series spending problem, it was my birthday this week so that was a good enough excuse to treat myself. I've currently been using the maybelline rocket volume mascara and wanted to try out a new mascara.  I've had my eyes on the Revlon Lash potion for a while now and when I went into boots it was 2 for £10 on Revlon mascara, nail varnish and lip products. This is such a bargain as the mascara retails for £9.99 alone, I got it in the waterproof formula as I get hay fever in the summer and my eyes always run, so waterproof mascara is a must. As it was 2 for £10 I was then able to get the Revlon Colorburst balm stain in  cherish devotion which retails for £7.99.

I have read a few recent reviews on the Max Factor Face Finity All Day Flawless 3 in 1 Foundation and thought I would give it a go as I prefer fuller coverage foundations.  I got it in he shade warm beige which is the 2nd lightest and it was £11.99.
I was about to leave the Max Factor stand when a sales lady pointed out if you spent £15 you got a gift set that contains 3 full sized products for free.. so of course I had to look and see if I needed anything else.  It's a friends birthday soon so I decided to get a max colour efects lip gloss to add to the rest of her pressie.

This amazing free gift contains these three beautiful items -
~Max Factor False Lash Effects Waterproof mascara in dark brown/black - I can't wait to this as it used to be my all time favourite mascara and I'm very excited to have it in a brown/black colour for summer.
~Glossfinity nail varnish in 10 snow white - I'm looking forward to using this as I have a few different glitter top coats that'll look lovely over this.
~Max Factor lipgloss in captivating ruby - This looks like it's going to be an amazing true red gloss.

Boots please stop doing these brilliant deals as my spending is getting out of control.lol!

Have you bought anything during these offers?

Summer nail varnish - # 1 Sugar Coat

Summer is here and I'm all about bright coloured nail varnish.  I was in TKMaxx and came across a few branded nail varnishes which were all at least £1 cheaper than in boots/superdrug (keep an eye on a post about the other ones). I love TKMaxx as they have products that you might not be able to get elsewhere.

Isn't this such a cute name!

This was just one coat of the nail varnish, it's very pigmented! I thought I wouldn't like the rough texture of this nail varnish but I grew to really like it.

I've worn it for 4 days and I have to say it's lasted pretty well. I would advise to use a base coat as I didn't and it's slightly stained my nails.

Gluten free snack time...

Here's a few snacks that I love to have in my drawer in work or in my handbag when I'm feeling peckish.  I usually always have one of these type of snacks in my handbag at all times as when you are on a gluten free diet it's sometimes harder to find gluten free products on the go.

Eat Natural cashew & blueberry bar - This is my new favourite Eat Natural bar, it's so delicious and covered in yoghurt.

Eat Natural dark chocolate, cranberries & macadamias - This would be my choice if I'm craving chocolate. I love having these in between meals for a small snack.

Neal's yard whole foods Toasted Corn Snacks - I am obsessed with corn snacks and these are so addictive, corn kernels toasted and salted, yummy!

Nature Crops Quinoa dark chocolate and almonds bar - I haven't seen this brand before but the sound of chocolate and almonds was good enough for me. I also picked up a Nature Crops Quinoa strawberries and yoghurt, how delicious does that sound!

Balance stevia praline chocolate bar - I just can't resist anything praline so when I seen that stevia was used to make this instead of sugar I had to try it... okay it didn't last very long and I've ate it already...it was so good!:)

Boots 3 for 2 skincare purchases...

No7 Instant Illusions Rapid Radiance Balm - I have been using this for the past week and I can honestly say I'm in love with it! This Radiance Balm is a fabulous cream that gives your skin that glow it needs when your skin is feeling tired. I apply this on top of my moisturiser and when I put on my foundation you can see a lovely natural glow coming through. Not only does this give me a glow I fell that it also tightens my skin and makes it look smoother.

Soap and Glory - Puffy Eye Attack eye cream - At first when I took this little pot out of the packaging I thought that it was small and wasn't going to last very long.  However it applies well and you only need a tiny dab as it turns into a thinner product when rubbed and a little goes a long way. So far I'm really enjoying it and it's keeping my under eye area nice and soft.

Soap and Glory - No Clogs Allowed face mask - This is a self heating face mask and not only does it heat up it also changes colour to a light blue when you rub it in. I've only used it once so can't give a proper opinion yet but after I used it my skin did feel very refreshed. Soap & Glory have an amazing selection of skincare, body care and makeup and I am just a sucker for the uber cute packaging!

Recent purchases Zara & H&M...

Zara block heeled gold sandals - I've been seeing so many different styles of these type of sandals recently and of course I wanted a pair.  I went into Zara for the first time in ages and spotted these, how could I resist them. I think they will look amazing with jeans, skirts and dresses.

These were £29.99 which I think is a great price for such a statement pair of sandals.

Zara Striped T-Shirt (sorry I can't find these T-Shirts online to link) - I am just obsessed with all things striped at the minute. This t-shirt has lovely blue lines and it sits beautifully on. Zara t-shirts are so soft and this one was only £12.99.

H&M imitation snake skin print - on my lunchtime stroll around town I noticed that H&M had a sale.  After buying the lovely Zara sandals I decided I 'needed' a black pair of similar sandals that'll go with more outfits and on my way to the sale section I spotted these beautiful sandals.  They were £19.99 and look lovely on!

I love using belts to dress up an outfit and I found these two cute belts... the bonus is they were in the sale section, yay! The top one is cream and black with gold detail and the bottom one is brown and black with gold detail.

My current jewellery loves...

Along my many ventures into New Look I came across a sale in the jewellery section and of course I couldn't walk past it! This gorgeous bracelet was only £2, I like to wear bracelets like this with simple outfits as then the jewellery stands out more.

This necklace is also from New Look and I think it was less than £4.  It's a lovely two toned necklace with a gold and gunmetal grey shade.

Finally I went into Internacionale as they had a closing down sale. In a way it was good as I picked this two toned chain necklace up for £1, yes 1 pound! However Internacionale was a place where I always picked up lovely simple pieces in clothing, footwear and jewellery so I'm pretty sad that it's now closed:( As you can tell I love my two toned jewellery as then I can switch up either silver or gold accessories with them.

I would love to know where you like to buy jewellery from?

~Maybelline Super Stay Gel Nail colour in Rose Poudre 130 - I love nude nail varnishes as when they were off/chip I don't think they look as bad as having a bright chipped colour on your nails. I've had this colour on my nails for a few days now and it's still looking pretty good.

~Maybelline Instant Anti-Age - The Eraser Eye concealer in Light - I've only had this concealer in a darker shade for when I tan so I'm excited to try this on a day to day basis.

~A facial cleansing pad from Primark - I went into Primark for the first time in months to stock up on socks etc and noticed they now have a huge range of beauty related products. I remember having one of these cleansing pads which came attached to a Loreal perfect clean cleanser and loved it (does anyone know if you can still buy those cleansers?)

~To Do inserts for my personal size Filofax - I have got out of the habit using my filofax as I've been meaning to buy inserts for it.  When I was in buying magazines in Eason's the other day I noticed they have various types of inserts for the Filofax and I decided to buy the 'To Do' inserts as I love making short notes of what I need to do and then get the satisfaction of ticking the wee box or scoring it out.lol

Dupe for Mark Hill brunette shampoo & conditioner...

I've recently been noticing that my hair has been dull and not as shiny as it usually is.  I have natural brown hair and will probably have to dye it soon as I've found a couple of white hairs... nooooo!!!... has anyone else started to find grey hairs?

I have had these travel sized Mark Hill products since Christmas and decided to try them out.  I've really enjoyed them and they've left my hair so soft and nourished.  As they are almost finished I was on the look out for other shampoos and conditioners aimed at brunette hair. I was about to buy the John Freida brilliant brunette shampoo set when I went and had a quick look in Semi Chem to see what they had to offer.  I came across this Beautiful Brunette range for £1 each, yes £1 how crazy is that for 250ml! They are also selling this brand at the minute in Poundland.

I've used the Beautiful Brunette shampoo & conditioner a few times now and they've gave me similar results to the Mark Hill products so as you can probably tell I'll be buying the cheaper alternative again. You've got to love a good bargain!:)

New Look haul...

Stripped waffle texture size 10 top - this is slightly over sized.  I have been on the search for a nice stripy top that can be dressed up and worn casual. This top definitely ticked those boxes for me and was only £8. I can see all my statement necklaces with it:)

Grey vest with chiffon trim in size M - this gorgeous top was only £6 and I can't wait to pair it with skinny jeans or tapered trousers.

This lovely top is in a size 10 and is slightly over sized.  This will be perfect for summer to put a strappy tank top under and were with denim shorts, skinny jeans, boyfriend jeans or tucked into skirts.  Just wait for how much I got it for... £5! Unfortunately I can't find it online now so can't link it:(!!!

These stunning sandals are only £19.99. I had to go to three different new look stores to find these in a size 5 as you can't seem to buy them online.  I'm usually a size 6 but recently I've been a size 5 in New Look footwear which is rather strange. I bought these for a wedding I have next month and they look amazing with the dress I've bought for it (pics coming soon).

I used the New Look click&collect service for the clothing items, that meant I bought the clothes online and got it delivered to my local store without paying for shipping costs. This service is amazing as I only ordered these items near the end of last week and picked them up today.

What's your favourite High Street shop?
